About the condition of the product

Q. There is mold growing on the top of the cork. Is this a defective product?

A. You may see mold on the top of the cork, but this does not affect the quality of the product.

The ideal environment for storing wine is a temperature of around 15°C and a humidity of around 75 %. Under these high humidity conditions, mold may occasionally form on the top of the cork or on the label. However, this is also proof that the wine was stored in the right environment.

If you are concerned about mold, simply wipe it off thoroughly with a clean cloth or towel and enjoy the food in peace.

Q. I found a black object in my red wine. I drank it, but is it okay?

A. This is called "seeds" and is a natural precipitation of wine components. Please rest assured that it is not harmful.

Sediment is the combination of red wine components (colors, alcohol, acid, tannins, etc.) that settles or adheres to the inside of the bottle. This is especially common in aged wines, but can also occur in young wines.

Drinking the sediment is not harmful to the body, but it may taste bitter or harsh. Therefore, we recommend consuming it in the following way.

  1. Handle the bottle gently and pour slowly - be careful not to get any sediment in your glass.
  2. Stand the bottles upright beforehand - It is effective to stand the bottles upright a few days before opening to allow the sediment to settle to the bottom.
  3. Use a decanter - Carefully decant only the clear liquid into a decanter and pour from there into a glass.

By trying these methods, you can enjoy your wine more comfortably.

Q. My wine smells like mold.

A. It could be a unique wine defect called "cork taint" (cork smell).

Cork taint is a phenomenon in which wine has a damp, moldy smell that is different from the original aroma and flavor of the wine. It is said to be caused by a chemical called " TCA (trichloroanisole)" that is rarely produced during the bleaching and processing of cork. Drinking the wine is not harmful to the body, but it may not be suitable for drinking. We apologize for the inconvenience, but please take the following steps to resolve the issue.

  1. Keep the wine contents intact.
  2. Please make sure to cork the bottle to prevent the wine from leaking.
  3. Please contact us to discuss the details.

After checking, we will take appropriate action if necessary.

Wine storage

Q. Is it okay to store unopened wine at room temperature?

A. Wine should be stored in a cool place with a humidity level of around 70 % and a temperature of 12 to 15°C . High temperatures can cause the flavor to change, so care must be taken. Storing wine at room temperature, especially in the summer, is not recommended. If you are not going to drink it right away, we recommend storing it in a wine cellar or the vegetable compartment of your refrigerator. If the wine is corked, store it on its side to prevent the cork from drying out.

Q. How should I store wine after it has been opened?

A. After opening, store wine at low temperature, not at room temperature. If you have any leftover wine, seal it tightly and store it in a wine cellar or refrigerator. We also recommend using commercially available products such as vacuum pumps and argon gas injectors to prevent oxidation.

Q. How long can I drink wine after it has been opened?

A. After opening, the product will oxidize when exposed to air and the flavor will change. We recommend drinking it within the following period.

Red wine: 5 to 7 days

Light bodied will begin to lose fruit flavor after 3 days of opening.

White wine: 3 to 5 days

Dry wines can last for about three days, while sweet wines can last for up to a week.

Sparkling wine: same day to 2 days

Until the carbonation has evaporated. If you use the special stopper, it will last up to 2 days.

Storage points

Storage location: Wine cellar or refrigerator

Storage: Store tightly sealed. If possible, use a pump to remove air.
