A wonderfully deep aroma of red berries with hints of spice and vanilla. Reminiscent of balsamic and roasted coffee, it is full-bodied and rich yet boasts superb elegance. The long finish is impeccable, with a firm structure and pleasant tannins.

Winemaking Method: Altitude: 90m. Training system: Cordon Espalier. Planting density: 5,900 vines per hectare. Yield: 55 quintals per hectare. Vinification: Malolactic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks for 15 days. Aged for 10 months in French oak barriques, followed by 6 months of bottle aging.

Ornello is a wine that captures the very scent of the Mediterranean scrub (macchia) that surrounds the vineyards of Rocca di Frassinello, located in the heart of Maremma, Tuscany. A blend of 40% Sangiovese, 20% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 20% Merlot, it combines power with elegance. The proportion of Syrah contributes to a rich and full-bodied flavor while maintaining the characteristic freshness of Rocca di Frassinello. After fermentation in stainless steel tanks, it undergoes aging in 50% new barriques, followed by bottle aging.

Crafted in homage to the Maremma cowboys, the "Butteri," depicted on the label, it is named after "Ornello," the long, pointed stick they use to herd cattle. This red wine truly reflects the essence of its terroir, speaking to a corner of Tuscany.
