Villiera Wines, Villiera Pinotage

A new style of Pinotage. It has a subtle aroma of wood oak, plum, vanilla, and smoke. It has a soft mouthfeel, but a solid structure and a long, pleasant finish. It's very well-balanced and can be enjoyed now, or even after aging for about five years.

Winemaking: The grapes are hand-harvested. Crushed and destemmed, then fermented at a temperature of 28°C. The wine is then pressed just before the dryness stage, after which it undergoes the usual remontage. After malolactic fermentation in tank, the wine is transferred to French oak barrels. 25% of the barrels are new, and the wine is aged for 10 months in bottle.
